Are you a filmmaker with a passion for change? Do you have a story that showcases innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges? We also welcome submissions from people who may not be filmmakers themselves but know of great films. We want to see your work!
The Solutions of the Year Film Festival is now accepting submissions for our upcoming festival. We are seeking films that highlight groundbreaking solutions, creative problem-solving, and inspirational stories that push the boundaries of what is possible.
Categories:
- Environmental Innovation: Films that focus on solutions addressing climate change, sustainability, and conservation.
- Social Impact: Stories that highlight social justice, community-driven initiatives, and efforts to improve human rights.
- Health & Wellbeing: Films showcasing advancements in healthcare, mental health, and initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles.
- Technology & Innovation: Documentaries or narratives that explore technological advancements and their potential to solve critical issues.
- Youth-Led Solutions: Projects led by or centered around youth innovation and their vision for the future.
Eligibility:
- Films must have been completed after January 1, 2024.
- All genres (documentary, narrative, experimental, etc.) and lengths (shorts, features) are welcome.
- Submissions are open to filmmakers worldwide.

Submission Guidelines:
- All films must be submitted digitally via submittable sharing the trailer.
- Please include a brief synopsis of your film, a list of key crew members, and any relevant press materials.
- Share your availability to participate in the film screening and 30-minute live Q&A with a Next City moderator.
Important Dates:
- Submission Deadline: October 7, 2024
- Notification of Selection: October 15, 2024
- Festival Dates: November 12-14, 5 pm - 6:30 pm
